My mother gave me a luminox watch for my birthday. It is a series 8800. I do not ware it anymore as the rubber band is breaking. I was in Cabelas Lone Tree store looking at getting a new band. They told me to contact you as the band should not be breaking apart in two years. Please let me know what I should do next.

From Luminox Customer Care.
Replacement straps and keepers are available through our Service Center. They can be reached at 401-946-0920, info@saltzmans-watches.com or http://www.saltzmans-watches.com/luminox_watch_bands .

Hello Customer Care.
If I buy a new rubber watch band will it break again? I do not want to just keep buying $40.00 rubber watch bands that will break within two years. Please advise me of what to do about this problem? Is this just bad manufacturing or bad rubber material in the rubber bands? Maybe it is the high altitude of where I live. I am in Parker, Colorado. 6,000 I do hike in the mountains here so I do go even higher. Maybe Luminox are not a watch that functions well at high altitudes. Do you think that is the problem? Again please advise me.

From Luminox Customer Care.
Altitude should not be a factor in the wear of your rubber strap. The rubber will break down over time. The life of a rubber strap can wear quicker depending on how the watch is treated. We do have nylon options for most of our watches. Nylon is typically going to last longer and be a stronger material. They can be reached at 401-946-0920, info@saltzmans-watches.com or http://www.saltzmans-watches.com/luminox_watch_bands.

Hello Customer Care.
Ok. Got it. It is just bad rubber material and bad manufacturing.

I told the Luminox customer care that I would put the emails of our communications on this website.

I own a Luminox tactical watch. The luminox symbol on the face of the watch came unglued and impedes the movement of the watch hands.

I have a warranty card. I sent the watch in for repair and was told the warranty will not be honored because there is no dealer stamp on the card. The watch is less than a year old. POOR WORKMANSHIP AND NOT A VERY GOOD TACTICAL WATCH.

CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS AND WAS NOT HELPFUL EITHER. I am in the law enforcement tactical community for one of the largest agencies in the nation.

I was very surprised how crappy my experience was with this company.

I have been selling Luminox watches for about a year and have one advice - do not buy! I had too many bad reviews from my clients. here are some common issues, some happen in just a short time of use:

1. Water resistant? Do not count on it, some watches are just not sealed. If water got into the watch and the movement is ruined you have a problem. They will always say it is your fault.

2. Scratches- The entry level watches do not have a sapphire crystal but "hardened mineral", it is easily scratched and brake.

3. Movements- They use basic cheap RONDA movements that are just not tough enough for military/police/outdoor use, do not expect to have a tough reliable watch. I replaced many movements for watches under 1 year of use.

4. Straps- The rubber straps are not strong enough! Prepare to buy another spare strap if you use it for any outdoor activity. it will not last for long.

5. LLT- that is the Luminox light technology. This is a great feature, probably the only good reason to buy a Luminox. but beware- the LLT capsules often fall off the dial, it is of course your fault (usually they will not repair under warranty). and I had a few cases that the capsules broke for no reason so do not glow anymore, you do not expect it to happen on a tough watch!

6. Hands fall off, usually the second hand fall off.

7. SERVICE- that is the most important issue on my opinion, Luminox will always blame you for any defect and will ask you to pay for repairs, stand up for your rights and do not accept it!

I bought 2 Blackout, Navy Seal Carbon Chronos ($500 Each). Nothing but trouble with both of them. The chrono has never worked correctly with the one I gave to my brother. The strap has ripped twice and second hand does not center correctly.

Recently, my Stem broke off in my hand when I pulled it out to reset the time. I could not believe it. I called the ONLY service center in USA and they told me its $30.00 to replace. I sent it to them and then they replied its also a $84.00 Major Overhaul even though everything else worked. It is way too much to spend on a defective part. They should have fixed for free.

Buy Suunto... I had one of my buttons stick and they sent me a self addressed envelope and fixed for free, overhauled it for free and put all new buttons on for... yes free. Plus shipped to me at NO cost.

They say it can withstand the beating of a Navy Seal! I think the Navy should make them take the Trident off the back of the watch, it does not deserve it!

My wife bought me my Luminox for Christmas and by the middle of January it had already torn up on me.I wore it in the shower two times and i noticed water on the inside of the glass, then the little glow light used as the #3 fell off.

The next day I was putting the watch on and the knob used to set the time just fell out of the watch! This is by far the cheapest made watch I have ever owned!!! I have multiple watches from timex to citizen and this one rates with the watch you use to get with your happy meal at McDonalds!

The customer service advised me the watch is waterproof but its not made to go in the shower!!! What the *** is that supposed to even mean!!!

My first Luminox watch was the original Navy Seal. It lasted a little over two years. The company wanted $125.00 to repair so I purchased the Model 8400. Last week it stopped after about 2.5 years. I replaced the battery. The watch ran from 3:10pm to 7:35pm and stopped for good.

The jewelry store watch repair said the works were very low quality and I was best in junking the watch or try sending it back to Luminox. Burned twice is enough, my opinion is they are absolutely junk and I was ripped off twice.

I liked the Luminox only because of the night illumination which seems to be the best in the industry. I dive at times in low visibility and light. Suppose it failed when needed and this company should not even represent any of their watches as dive watches. They are putting people at risk. Not to mention the false advertising. The dial may not be as bright but my Breitling has functioned perfectly for over ten years and I think I will stick with it.

Luminox hopefully will disappear as the truth gets out.

Reagan Warned Us About Obama

How Reagan summed up Obama in the first 5 minutes of a speech over 40 years ago.

Thomas Jefferson said: "When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

"The federal government is our servant, not our master!"

James Madison, the main author of the US constitution, said: "The governments of Europe are afraid to trust the people with arms. If they did, the people would surely shake off the yoke of tyranny."

"The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed."

-- Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist Papers

"And that the said Constitution be never construed to authorize Congress ... to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms.... "

--Samuel Adams

"The people are not to be disarmed of their weapons. They are left in full possession of them."

-- Zacharia Johnson, delegate to Virginia Ratifying Convention

"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the outcome of the vote."

"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

-- Benjamin Franklin

"God grants Liberty only to those who love it, and are always ready to guard and defend it."

-- Daniel Webster

The constitutions of most of our States assert, that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves, in all cases to which they think themselves competent, (as in electing their functionaries executive and legislative, and deciding by a jury of themselves, in all judiciary cases in which any fact is involved,) or they may act by representatives, freely and equally chosen; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed; that they are entitled to freedom of person, freedom of religion, freedom of property, and freedom of the press.

-- Thomas Jefferson, Letter to Major John Cartwright

"Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom."

-- John F. Kennedy

"...quemadmodum gladius neminem occidit, occidentis telum est."
[...A sword by itself does not slay; it is merely the weapon used by the slayer..]
-- (Lucius Annaeus) Seneca "the Younger" (ca. 4 BC-65 AD)

American Gun Control - The Push To Disarm Americans

Published on Mar 21, 2013

In America, because of the vast number of firearms in the hands of its law abiding citizens and the laws allowing them to protect themselves and their property, it is impossible to gauge how many lives have been saved and serious injuries prevented by the simple fact that criminals cannot be certain who is armed and who is not. It makes for a decidedly dangerous work environment for the criminal. Criminals, for safety sake, will almost certainly prefer to strike at the weakest link - the most vulnerable - those least likely to be able to defend themselves or offer resistance.
